Everything you need to know about working with us
We mill lumber in-house — jointing and planing rough stock so it's perfectly straight and acclimated to local humidity. This is why our built-ins don't warp, gap, or separate over time. We source materials from specialty suppliers who provide superior products to what you'll find at big-box stores.
Fair question. Here's what you're actually paying for:
Materials: We use real hardwood and furniture-grade plywood — not particle board or MDF that swells and sags over time. Our cabinets are built to outlast your mortgage.
Fit: IKEA cabinets come in fixed sizes (12", 15", 18", etc.). We build to your exact measurements, so there are no awkward gaps or filler pieces. Everything is custom-fitted to your space.
Construction: IKEA uses cam locks and dowels. We use traditional joinery methods with glue, screws, and dado joints. You can't pull our shelves apart — they're built like furniture.
Longevity: IKEA cabinets last 5-10 years before they start looking tired. Our work lasts 50+ years. Your great-grandkids will use the pantry we build you.
Bottom line: If you're flipping a rental property or need something inexpensive for a few years, IKEA makes sense. If you're building something for your home that you want to hand down to your kids, that's what we specialize in.
Quality craftsmanship isn't cheap, and cheap work isn't quality craftsmanship. We focus on the latter.
Our built-ins are designed and constructed to last 50+ years — meaning they should serve your family for generations without needing repairs or replacement. The 1-year warranty covers our work; the 50+ year lifespan is about the durability of what we build.
Thinking about these questions before we meet helps us design the perfect solution for your space:
